Short Course on Coronial Law – Commencing 3 April 2025

The Centre for Contemporary Coronial Law at the University of Greater Manchester is pleased to announce the upcoming iteration of its well-regarded Short Course on Coronial Law, commencing on Thursday, 3 April 2025.

This course provides participants with a comprehensive understanding of the coronial system, covering both theoretical and practical aspects of coronial law. It includes training on legal principles, procedural frameworks, and practical applications, equipping attendees with the necessary knowledge and skills to engage effectively with the inquest process.

Delivered by experienced practitioners, the course has a strong practical focus, preparing participants for attendance at and participation in coronial courts, as well as for handling inquest cases.

This course is designed for those working within or alongside the coronial system, including legal professionals, coroners' officers, medical examiners, and hospital coronial liaison staff. While not specifically tailored for coroners themselves, newly appointed coroners or those considering applying for coronial positions may also find it beneficial.

All sessions will be conducted online via Microsoft Teams from 18:00 to 20:30.

The cost per session is £50, or £300 for the full course.
